Nampa Idaho

Paint the Box

Nampa's first utility box art wrap was completed and unveiled recently! The vinyl wrap is based on Helen Grainger Wilson's painting "Ole!" You can see the lovely art on the corner of 14th Ave and 2nd St. South in downtown Nampa.

This is the first box, made possible through CDBG funds and the Idaho Commission on the Arts. There are currently opportunities for local artists to submit their work for consideration.
"Paint the Box" is designed to enhance the community, both in commercial and residential areas, by adding works of art to the streetscapes. Artwork on traffic signal boxes function as a form of communication to a moving audience with the goal of creating a safe, inclusive and interesting environment. The individual boxes may vary in theme and technique depending on the artist, but as the program is city-wide, "Paint the Box" will become a dynamic art installation in itself.

We're excited about this beautification effort in our Downtown. Find out more on the Paint the Box Facebook page.
